Many of our Palmetto Bluff wedding clients opt for an outdoor ceremony underneath the beautiful trees overlooking the May River. Other popular options on property are the May River Chapel and Somerset Chapel with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water.
You can never go wrong with a tented reception on The Village Green. A lot of our full buy-out clients will tent the lawn in Wilson Village for dinner and dancing and then invite guests inside to the Oak Ballroom for a fun after party - like this one HERE.
Cocktail hour location depends on where the ceremony and reception are taking place. My personal favorite is anywhere overlooking the May River. It offers a picturesque setting at sunset and makes for great photos with you and your guests!

Todd Events planned this beautiful 4 day celebration. The weekend activities began with a bridal brunch and clay shooting for the guys. They opted for a unique and intimate rehearsal dinner inside the May River Chapel, followed by welcome party for all on the Riverhouse Lawn. The wedding ceremony took place outside the Somerset Chapel over looking the River. They chose a tented reception on The Village Green for dinner and dancing. The Oak Ballroom served as their after 70's themed after party where they transformed the space completely.
The Palmetto Bluff wedding team planned this beautiful summer fête. Our coverage started with a pre-wedding portrait session on property, followed by an intimate rehearsal on Thursday night at Riverhouse. Friday night's festivities included an oyster roast welcome party at Moreland Landing where the bride and groom arrived via the newly restored wooden boat The Miranda. The wedding ceremony took place inside The Sommerset Chapel with sunset cocktail hour on the May River Lawn and a tented reception on The Village Green.
This NYC couple hosted a 3 day destination wedding weekend at Palmetto. They kicked off the celebration with a Moreland Landing welcome party complete with an oyster roast- where the bride and groom arrived via the wooden Hinkley. The wedding ceremony took place on the boat house lawn outside the May River Chapel. With open air cocktail hour on the river. For the reception they tented The Village Green and had dinner overlooking the historic ruins and May River. They danced the night away in the Oak Ballroom.
